The Neutrino and Dark Matter direct detection group at University of Hawaii has an opening for two postdoctoral research associate positions. Qualified candidates are invited to apply.
The group is involved in DUNE and PROSPECT neutrino experiments and the DarkSide-20k direct dark matter detection experiment. The group’s experimental focus is on the calibration of charge and light in liquid argon TPCs and the calibration of liquid scintillator detectors, physics analysis and simulations. We are looking for outstanding postdoctoral candidates to join us in the pursuit of new physics and building state-of-the-art detectors. The successful applicants will have an opportunity to work on two projects of their choice out of the three listed projects. The group members enjoy a stimulating research environment within the Hawaii High Energy Physics Group that spans high-energy theory, B-physics, cosmic rays, astrophysics and instrumentation.
Minimum qualifications: Ph.D. degree in experimental particle physics or a closely related field. The successful candidates will enjoy significant freedom in choosing their research topic, and will be expected to actively participate in hardware and simulation activities that the group is involved in.
