Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician
Location: Fort Worth, TX 76102
Shift: Monday to Friday, 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM
Job Summary: A healthcare facility in Fort Worth is seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Technician to support surgical and clinical teams by ensuring the availability of clean, sterilized instruments and medical equipment. This position plays a vital role in maintaining patient safety and upholding infection control standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Collect, clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical devices.
Operate and maintain sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, ultrasonic washers, and steam sterilizers.
Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage; repair or report as needed.
Assemble instrument trays and surgical sets based on established protocols and surgeon preferences.
Monitor, document, and verify sterilization cycles for compliance with regulatory guidelines.
Maintain accurate inventory and ensure sterile supplies are stored appropriately.
Follow strict safety and infection control procedures when handling contaminated items.
Work closely with surgical and nursing teams to ensure timely delivery of sterilized instruments.
Keep detailed records of sterilization processes, equipment maintenance, and instrument tracking.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
Completion of a Sterile Processing Technician program or relevant training.
CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) certification preferred (may be required depending on the facility).
Understanding of sterilization methods and infection control protocols (AAMI, AORN standards).
Basic computer proficiency for inventory and record-keeping.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and remain on feet for extended periods.
