This is a unique opportunity to support the Department's mission to protect, conserve and enjoy the abundant and diverse natural resources in the Northern Region. We are looking of a motivated individual who enjoys providing customer service in a fast paced office environment. Daily duties include processing written correspondence, responding to questions from the public in person, over the phone and by email regarding licenses, permits, regulations, recreational opportunities and much more. The incumbent will also provide administrative support to the Regional Manager including scheduling, arranging travel, meeting coordination and more. This is an office-based position with the opportunity to visit field sites and remote offices within the Northern Region, typically once per year based on budget and travel restrictions. Employee will work in climate-controlled office under artificial light. Due to periodic problems with the heating and air conditioning, the building temperature may fluctuate. On occasion animal carcasses and undesirable smells may be present in the office. Daily, frequent use of computers, telephones, copy machines, printers, and scanners. Long periods of time sitting or standing at a computer. Overnight travel is not anticipated for this position. Driving a state vehicle to deliver mail to the post office or overnight courier is required. A valid Driver’s License is required to operate a State vehicle.
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
Experience with MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Teams, MS SharePoint and DocuSign.
Experience creating documents that are compliant with Americans with Disability Act requirements.
Experience providing customer service.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Knowledge and/or experience with hunting and fishing regulations.
