Charlotte’s Best Nanny Agency is assisting a family in South Charlotte in finding a Full-Time Nanny for their three children, 9, 6, and 3.5 years old. The nanny would typically be needed Monday-Friday, 7:30/8:30 am - 4:00/5:00 pm. (40 hours)

The best nanny for this family will have experience working in a home environment with neurodivergent children and will bring emotional maturity, patience, consistency, and a proactive mindset to the role. The nanny will be supporting their three children, two of whom are neurodivergent (Autism and ADHD). It is important that the nanny is intuitive and can anticipate the needs of the children to limit disruption throughout the day. This is a collaborative position where the nanny will work closely with both parents, primarily with Mom, but Dad has a flexible schedule, so he will be present and interacting with the children at times during the day. Strong communication and coordination among all three adults will be key to creating a smooth, cohesive rhythm in the home, along with a willingness to accept and implement feedback with professionalism. The family is looking for someone who can multitask and will prioritize teaching independence. Helping the children grow in their ability to manage responsibilities like getting dressed, making beds, cleaning up after themselves, and learning to play independently.

In the summer, the children are enrolled in various half-day camps. During the school year, the youngest child will be in half-day preschool 5 days a week, and the two older children are homeschooled. On Tuesdays, the older children attend a homeschool group at the YMCA from 9 am-1 pm; during this time, the nanny will be asked to assist with some light house management tasks, such as assisting with scheduling appointments and organizing activities for the children. ABA therapy will soon be introduced to further support the son with autism; the nanny will play an important role in consistency and helping reinforce skills for greater independence.

The family values a healthy balance between structure and flexibility. Each day will start with the nanny jumping into the existing morning routine. Once the daily homeschool routine starts, Mom will lead the process, and the nanny will be expected to step in and provide support as needed to help keep the day running smoothly. The afternoons will consist of outdoor play, sensory play, downtime, including screen time, and other engaging but relaxed activities like chalk, play-dough, and games. Someone who can help regulate sibling dynamics, particularly during transitions or quiet periods in the afternoon, is imperative. The right candidate will be calm, cheerful, dependable, and not easily overwhelmed by the ever-changing needs of a busy family. While mom will usually be present and involved, trust and collaboration are key. Over time, the nanny may be asked to take the children on outings and contribute more independently to daily routines.

Nanny Responsibilities Include:

• Meeting the daily scheduling needs of the children

• Engaging with the children on an age-appropriate level

• Playing with the children both inside and outside the home

• Doing hands-on activities with the children

Household Duties Include (Children are first priority):

• Children’s meal prep, including lunch, snacks, and light dinner prep

• Unloading/loading the dishwasher

• Sanitizing toys and frequently used surfaces by the children

• Picking up after the nanny and the children throughout the day

• Scheduling appointments for the children

• Facilitating extracurricular activities for the children

• Organizing the pantry, refrigerator, children’s closets, etc.

Pets: The family has a ragdoll cat; there will be no pet responsibilities for the nanny. Since the mom is allergic to cats, the family keeps air filters around the home and are very diligent about the cat hair.

Qualifications:

• Have at least 3 years of professional nanny experience

• Have a college degree or equivalent experience

• Have a professional resume

• Fill out a complete online application

• Pass a pre-screening interview with Charlotte’s Best Nanny Agency

• Pass a national background check, including a driving record check

• Have a valid driver’s license

• Have safe and reliable transportation

• Have a minimum of three professional references

• Be non-smoking/vaping

• CPR and First Aid Certified

• Nanny should be fluent in English, any additional languages are a plus

Start Date, Salary, and Benefits:

• This position starts ASAP

• Legal pay is offered at $28-$32 an hour, negotiable depending on experience
