Position Description

Lindsay Corporation is looking for a Business Development Manager (BDM) – Electronic Manufacturing Solutions (EMS) to join the Olathe, KS commercial team. The BDM will be responsible for the EMS portfolio, building and managing new customer relationships and increasing revenue by identifying new opportunities and managing the complete customer acquisition process. This position works closely with the rest of the commercial, operations and other functional teams by understanding the requirements and executing the projects to deliver the agreed upon objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for engaging with new and existing customers to identify revenue growth opportunities.
  • Accountable for all aspects of customer acquisition, building relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction with the delivered products.
  • Responsible for maintaining technical interface between customers and multiple departments at the Olathe location.
  • Responsible for pricing strategy and the preparation and completeness of customer proposals.
  • Assist in the preparation of sales forecasts for existing customer accounts documenting relevant data on the status of accounts.
  • Validate project scope, schedule, cost, and contract terms with customers, including technical and commercial elements. Act as the lead contact during project initiation & execution.
  • Oversee the entire project schedule, plan and assist operations team to successfully deliver the placed orders.
  • Supervise changes or alterations that are made to manufacturing documentation packages throughout the duration of the program.
  • Monitor project execution through kick-off meetings, scheduling, and communication with all parties. Drive risk and change management, solve problems, and improve customer relationships.
  • Manage project scope changes and process change orders to ensure project alignment with customer requirements and company standards.
  • Understand and clearly communicate project needs and program goals with stakeholders
  • Develop and communicate business cases for future development projects
  • Support multiple projects simultaneously while meeting developmental timelines and milestones

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, manufacturing, or related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in project management in electronic manufacturing or development organizations.
  • 3+ years of work experience in a sales role requiring interaction with various customers
  • Customer focused individual with either electronics or LCD manufacturing experience, or contract manufacturing experience.
  • Excellent business acumen, major account selling and negotiation skills, and sound financial competence.
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft Office products and strong computer skills.
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to make presentations to large groups of customers or channel partners
  • Excellent leadership, project management and organizational skills
