The words ‘mad’ and ‘nice’ don’t usually go together — unless you’re at Mad Nice , where the unexpected feels just right.
Now over two years in, Mad Nice has become a Detroit destination — where Italian roots meet coastal California ease, and vintage hospitality is served with a side of Motor City flavor. Our space is where farm-fresh ingredients, fermented wonders, and handmade pastas mingle under mid-century lights and coastal-chic vibes. We’re stylish but low-key, timeless yet modern, sweet and salty — just like the city we call home.
We’re proud of what we’ve built — and now we’re growing our team.
The Role: Bartender
The bar at Mad Nice is more than a station — it’s a centerpiece. Our bartenders help shape the guest experience with creativity, warmth, and attention to every last detail. We’re looking for someone who understands that cocktails are both craft and hospitality — someone who can build a drink and a vibe with equal finesse.
Our bar program is inspired by the California coast and Italian soul, all with a Detroit edge. Seasonal, local, and ingredient-forward — we care about freshness, technique, and delivering consistently excellent drinks that reflect our evolving menu and story.
What We’re Looking For:
A minimum of 1 year of bartending experience (fine dining or high-volume preferred)
Comfort with classic cocktail technique and spirit knowledge
Attention to detail with recipes, pours, and presentation
High-level organizational skills and clean work habits
Ability to manage a full bar top, service well, or station with efficiency and poise
Strong communication and ability to collaborate with team members and guests
A passion for food, wine, beer, and spirits — and a hunger to keep learning
A sense of ownership, pride, and professionalism in your craft
Calm under pressure and a can-do, solutions-first mindset
You Might Be Mad Nice If You:
Understand that hospitality is about people, not just process
Thrive in fast-paced, detail-driven environments
Love combining timeless technique with modern energy
Are always looking for ways to elevate the guest experience
Bring good energy and want to be part of a tight-knit team
Why Join Us:
At Heirloom Hospitality , we don’t just offer jobs — we offer growth. We invest in our people with top-tier pay, benefits, and training. You’ll join a team that cares deeply about food, service, design, and community — and you’ll help shape what’s next at one of Detroit’s most exciting concepts.
Come be a part of the Mad Nice movement. Apply today. Let’s do something madly good, together.
