Duties ? Job Duties of a Quality Rated Childcare Teacher
1. Curriculum & Lesson Planning - Develop and implement age-appropriate, engaging lesson plans based on state standards and developmental guidelines
- Incorporate play-based learning, literacy, math, science, and social-emotional development
- Track and document children's progress toward developmental milestones
2. Classroom Environment - Create a warm, welcoming, and safe classroom that promotes learning and exploration
- Set up and rotate learning centers to support developmental goals
- Maintain a clean, organized, and child-friendly space
3. Supervision & Safety - Provide constant, active supervision of all children
- Follow all safety protocols and emergency procedures
- Maintain proper child-to-staff ratios at all times
4. Health & Hygiene - Practice and promote good hygiene, including handwashing and diapering protocols
- Clean and sanitize toys, furniture, and equipment daily
- Follow health and safety guidelines required by licensing and Quality Rated standards
5. Communication - Build strong, respectful relationships with children and families
- Communicate daily with parents about their child?s activities, progress, and needs
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences and family engagement events
6. Documentation & Compliance - Conduct and document developmental assessments and observations
- Maintain accurate attendance, incident reports, and daily records
- Comply with all state licensing regulations and Quality Rated program standards
7. Professional Development - Attend required training hours annually
- Participate in staff meetings, workshops, and Quality Rated improvement initiatives
- Stay current with best practices in early childhood education
8. Team Collaboration - Work collaboratively with co-teachers and support staff
- Assist in planning and implementing classroom activities
- Provide guidance to assistant teachers or floaters when needed
Requirements ? Requirements:
- Experience working with young children (preferred)
- CDA, TCC, Associate?s or higher in Early Childhood Education (or actively pursuing)
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or willing to obtain)
- Must pass background check and meet state licensing requirements
- Reliable, team-oriented, and passionate about early learning!
